Customer Success: Entering the Data Capture Market
A long-term Ingram Micro customer who is new to data capture attended an Ingram Micro marketing event in New York City. A sponsoring manufacturer's Sr. Director of Global Healthcare Solutions was the keynote presenter. The Ingram Micro customer realized he had a fit with his existing end-user customers within the data capture space.
The customer then worked with the manufacturer and Ingram Micro to learn the manufacturer's programs and acquire demo equipment at a discounted price. The solution is for medication administration and includes handheld devices and wireless infrastructure. Ingram Micro has already shipped $70K which is being tested in one facility. There is a potential rollout to 30 facilities -- a $2 million opportunity total.

Help for Battlefield Medics: Using Handheld Devices
A government partner looking to update his handheld devices partnered with one of Ingram Micro's resellers to find the correct technology for the job. The reseller worked with Ingram Micro to make sure the deployment of the new handheld was fully stocked and delivered on time. The handhelds will be used throughout the Middle East in Kuwait and Iraq, where they will help battlefield medics account for each soldier. If one is wounded or fatally injured, it will allow the medics to store and access the soldiers' records easily.
The modular solutions are built on common components for quick deployment, so government leaders can adopt new technologies at a low total cost of ownership. This is just one example of how Ingram Micro and its partnering manufacturers work together to provide complete solutions within the government space.

Ingram Micro was able to assist the reseller with integration and configuration of mobile computers by loading IP addresses on devices prior to directly shipping them to end-user sites using just-in-time delivery. Ingram Micro offers superior stocking and delivery through the backorder process, ensuring products will be available when needed. The Ingram Micro Service Network (IMSN) has also been brought into the support solution to provide additional site surveys nationwide.
